Getting Started On eBay

To begin with, identify a product or category of products to specialize in. (I have a separate article on this. Read here). This will keep you focussed and make you an expert in the chosen product(s). From the cost angle also, this makes better sense because your unit costs often tend to be lower when dealing with larger quantities.

Start by choosing a certain type of product to specialize in (ex. toys, clothes, etc.). Once you have gained enough knowledge and confidence, you can expand the product line.

Getting started on eBay is rather easy. Create an eBay user ID and you’re set. Don’t forget to read the eBay selling rules and all the tips eBay offers along the way.

Offer only a few items in the beginning and don’t saturate your auctions with too many of the same item. Remember the objective is to sell your items at the highest price and as such an oversupply can be counter-productive.
